Women's Soccer Looks to Extend Their Win Streak at Home on Wednesday Afternoon

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Soccer team, riding a 5-game win streak, hosts the Aurora University Spartans on Wednesday afternoon.

Series History vs. Aurora:
All-Time Record / Streak: 10-18-2/ W1
-Dominican and Aurora first played at West Campus Field on October 6, 2001; AU won 6-2.
-DU lost the first 18 games against the Spartans from the span of 2001 to 2014. The Stars won their first match against AU on October 10, 2025 (2-1).
-Dominican is currently 10-0-1 in their last 11 matches against Aurora. During this stretch DU scored 26 goals while only allowing 4.
-The Stars are 5-6 at West Campus Field when playing Aurora.
-DU is 10-7-1 in NACC play against AU.
- Dominican has scored 33 goals and averages 1.1 goals per game against the Spartans.

 
DU in Review:
-The Stars hold a 6-3-1 record in 2025 and a 4-1 conference record. The Stars are also holding a 5-game win streak and are 3-2-1 at West Campus Field.
-Dominican went 11-6-3 overall in their 2024 season, while going 9-1-2 inside the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
-DU was the third seed in the conference tournament last season, where they won their first matchup against Marian University 2-0.
-The Stars went 8-3-1 at West Campus Field in their 2024 campaign.
-Head Coach Carlos Carrillo enters his 12th season at the helm of DU Women's Soccer. Carrillo has amassed a record of 151-49-16 in that time.

Last Time Out:
-DU returned to West Campus Field and beat the Falcons of CUW in a battle between two top seeds in the NACC. Stars won 1-0.
 -Freshman Logan Shanks came in off the bench and earned Star of the Match deservingly so, scoring the game-winning goal in the 25th minute of the match. Shanks also recorded 3 shots on target with 7 total shots.
-Senior Sarah Borsellino collected one of the assists on the goal and added 2 shots with a shot on frame.
-Senior Mia Taullahu collected an assist on the goal.
-Senior Sarah Rioux had the second highest amount of shots in the match with 6 of them; one was on frame.
-Sophomore Tia Garr had both of her shots on target.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek battled all game, including battling through a bloody nose in her 79 minutes of play. Matuszek collected 2 shots on frame in those minutes.
-Despite leaving for 9 minutes of the match Sophomore Gianna Stanek collected 5 saves and did not allow a goal for her third straight start.
-Sophomore Meadow Pratt made a save in her 9 minutes of play.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Kamryn Klinger, who has been the heart and soul for the Stars as a defensive midfielder. In 2024, Klinger was honored with second team all-conference in the NACC by having 18 appearances and 15 starts for Dominican, while playing 1292 minutes. Klinger was one of the three players from Dominican that represented Team USA in the DIII Soccer Tour.
-Senior Natalia Lopez returns for her senior campaign as a midfielder for the Stars. Last season Lopez had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 25 shots on goal in her 20 appearances through the 2024 season. Lopez was honored with a first-team all-conference in the NACC. In Lopez's three-year career at Dominican, she has scored 18 goals, collected 10 assists, with 4 game-winning goals in her 59 appearances in a Stars uniform.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek will be back in a Stars uniform this upcoming season, where she has been a huge part of the Dominican style of play on the outside. Matuszek is coming off a season where she scored 3 goals, and added 6 assists while appearing in all 20 matches in the 2024 season. Matuszek earned first-team all-conference in the NACC last season.
-Senior Mia Taullahu is back for Dominican this upcoming year and is looking to continue creating havoc on the outside as a forward. Taullahu collected a goal and 6 assists in her 17 appearances in the 2024 season.
-Senior Mia Dosen will be back for the Stars in her second season at Dominican. She will be wearing a new number this season, changing from #34 to #10. Last season, Dosen collected 7 goals and 2 assists with 17 shots on goal in her 20 appearances.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney is looking to take another big step in her second season at Dominican. Barney finished her freshman campaign by having 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances. With this, Barney is tied for the most goal contributions from the 2024 season with 10.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Logan Shanks has been a huge success for Dominican early in the season, scoring 4 goals while having 16 shots, 11 of them being on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux has been on fire for this Stars offense, scoring 3 goals in two matches. Rioux has also collected 26 shots, 9 of those on target, and 4 assists this season.
-Senior Natalia Lopez has started all 10 games for the Stars and has scored 1 goal on 24 total shots. Lopez has 9 shots on goal. Lopez has also tallied 2 assists on the season. Lopez leads the team in minutes played with 842.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek has continued to bring a burst of speed like she always has in a Stars uniform, and she has collected 11 shots, while 7 of those were on target. The senior has marked 833 minutes so far this season.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger collected her first collegiate goals in her latest two games. Klinger has tallied 10 total shots this season, with 4 of them on frame.
-Senior Mia Dosen has come on strong for Dominican the last couple games, collecting 2 goals on 9 shot attempts. 6 of those shots were on target.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek has played in 6 games this season while making 30 saves.

Scouting Report:
-Aurora is 2-9 to start the 2025 season and is currently 2-4 in NACC play.
-The Spartans are riding a two-game winning streak with those wins against CUC (2-1) and Lakeland (4-0), both games at Aurora University.
-AU is 0-5 on the road, and the game against Dominican starts a 3-game road trip for Aurora.
-The Spartans started conference play with four losses to Illinois Tech (4-0), Edgewood (1-0), CUW (1-0), and MSOE (5-1).
-Aurora has scored 8 goals this season and is averaging .73 goals per game, while their opponents have scored 23 goals and are averaging 2.09 goals per game.
