Women's Soccer Looks to Keep Win Streak Alive at Edgewood

Madison, Wis. – The Dominican University Women's Soccer team will look to make it seven wins in a row at Edgewood on Saturday.

Series History vs. Edgewood:
All-Time Record / Streak: 15-9-3 / W7
-Dominican and Edgewood first played in Madison on 8/29/2003 (L, 3-2).
-DU's largest margin of victory over the Eagles came on 10/23/2021 (6-0).
-Dominican's last loss to EU came on 10/11/2014 on the road (2-0).
-The Stars are 9-4 at home against Edgewood.
-DU is 11-4-1 in NACC play against the Eagles.
- Dominican has scored 47 goals and averages 1.74 goals per game in its history against Edgewood.

 
DU in Review:
-The Stars hold a 7-3-1 (5-1 NACC) record in 2025. The Stars are also holding a 6-game win streak and are 4-2-1 at home.
-Dominican went 11-6-3 overall in their 2024 season, while going 9-1-2 inside the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
-DU was the third seed in the conference tournament last season, where they won their first matchup against Marian University 2-0.
-The Stars went 8-3-1 at West Campus Field in their 2024 campaign.
-Head Coach Carlos Carrillo enters his 12th season at the helm of DU Women's Soccer. Carrillo has amassed a record of 151-49-16 in that time.

Last Time Out:
-DU handled Aurora at home on Wednesday, defeating the Spartans by a final of 3-1.
 -Senior Sarah Matuszek was all over the pitch for the Stars, collecting a free-kick goal, an assist, and won a penalty for Dominican.
-Senior Mia Dosen slotted home her 3rd goal of the season and posted 4 shots.
-Senior Natalia Lopez scored from the spot for her 2nd goal of the campaign while adding 4 shots.
-Senior Sarah Rioux recorded an assist on the Dosen goal.
-Freshman Evelyn Salazar notched two shots on target in the win.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Kamryn Klinger, who has been the heart and soul for the Stars as a defensive midfielder. In 2024, Klinger was honored with second team all-conference in the NACC by having 18 appearances and 15 starts for Dominican, while playing 1292 minutes. Klinger was one of the three players from Dominican that represented Team USA in the DIII Soccer Tour.
-Senior Natalia Lopez returns for her senior campaign as a midfielder for the Stars. Last season Lopez had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 25 shots on goal in her 20 appearances through the 2024 season. Lopez was honored with a first-team all-conference in the NACC. In Lopez's three-year career at Dominican, she has scored 18 goals, collected 10 assists, with 4 game-winning goals in her 59 appearances in a Stars uniform.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek will be back in a Stars uniform this upcoming season, where she has been a huge part of the Dominican style of play on the outside. Matuszek is coming off a season where she scored 3 goals, and added 6 assists while appearing in all 20 matches in the 2024 season. Matuszek earned first-team all-conference in the NACC last season.
-Senior Mia Taullahu is back for Dominican this upcoming year and is looking to continue creating havoc on the outside as a forward. Taullahu collected a goal and 6 assists in her 17 appearances in the 2024 season.
-Senior Mia Dosen will be back for the Stars in her second season at Dominican. She will be wearing a new number this season, changing from #34 to #10. Last season, Dosen collected 7 goals and 2 assists with 17 shots on goal in her 20 appearances.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney is looking to take another big step in her second season at Dominican. Barney finished her freshman campaign by having 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances. With this, Barney is tied for the most goal contributions from the 2024 season with 10.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Logan Shanks has been a huge success for Dominican early in the season, scoring 4 goals while having 18 shots, 12 of them being on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux has been on fire for this Stars offense, scoring 3 goals so far this year. Rioux has also collected 27 shots, with 10 of those on target, and has collected 5 assists this season.
-Senior Natalia Lopez has started all 10 games for the Stars and has scored 2 goal on 28 total shots. Lopez has 11 shots on goal. Lopez has also tallied 2 assists on the season. Lopez leads the team in minutes played with 932.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek has continued to put in a strong shift for the Stars, and the Senior fullback has collected a goal, 11 shots, and 9 shots on target. Matuszek has logged 923 minutes so far this season.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger collected her first collegiate goals in her latest three games. Klinger has tallied 10 total shots this season, with 4 of them on frame.
-Senior Mia Dosen has come on strong for Dominican the last couple games and is now joint-second on the squad in goals with 3.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek has played in 7 games this season and has made 32 saves.

Scouting Report:
-Edgewood is 8-4-1 to start the 2025 season and is currently 4-2 in NACC play.
-The Eagles are riding a two-game win streak, with both wins coming on the road at Concordia Wisconsin (3-0) and St. Norbert (2-0).
-EU is 3-2 at home this year with wins over Lakeland, UW Stout, and Cornell College.
-Edgewood has scored 20 goals this season, which averages to 1.54 goals per game. They have conceded 14 goals to their opponents, or 1.08 goals against per game.
