#4 Women's Soccer Focuses on NACC Semifinal at #1 Illinois Tech

Chicago, Ill. – The #4 Dominican University Women's Soccer team prepares for #1 Illinois Tech in the NACC Semifinals on Wednesday.

Series History vs. Illinois Tech:
All-Time Record / Streak: 9-4 / L3
-Dominican and Illinois Tech first played on 9/12/2014 in Chicago (L, 3-0).
-DU went on a 9-game win streak against the Scarlet Hawks between 10/20/2015 – 9/14/2022.
-Dominican dropped its regular season game at IIT this season on 10/15/2025 (5-1).
-DU is 2-3 at Illinois Tech.
-The Stars have scored 21 goals and average 1.62 goals per match against IIT.
 
DU in Review:
-The Stars hold an 12-5-1 (9-3 NACC) record in 2025.
-Dominican went 11-6-3 overall in their 2024 season, while going 9-1-2 inside the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC).
-DU was the third seed in the conference tournament last season, where they won their first matchup against Marian University 2-0.
-The Stars went 8-3-1 at West Campus Field in their 2024 campaign.
-Head Coach Carlos Carrillo enters his 12th season at the helm of DU Women's Soccer. Carrillo has amassed a record of 151-49-16 in that time.

Last Time Out:
-The Stars defended home turf against Concordia Wisconsin in the NACC Quarterfinals by a final score of 2-1.
-Junior Meghan Wilhite picked up DU's two goals while adding 6 shots in 60 minutes.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney and Senior Sarah Matuszek picked up assists on Wilhite's game-winning goal.
-Sophomore Tia Garr held down the midfield and had 4 shots.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek made 5 saves in the win.

Familiar Faces:
-Dominican returns senior Kamryn Klinger, who has been the heart and soul for the Stars as a defensive midfielder. In 2024, Klinger was honored with second team all-conference in the NACC by having 18 appearances and 15 starts for Dominican, while playing 1292 minutes. Klinger was one of the three players from Dominican that represented Team USA in the DIII Soccer Tour.
-Senior Natalia Lopez returns for her senior campaign as a midfielder for the Stars. Last season, Lopez had 6 goals, 4 assists, and 25 shots on goal in her 20 appearances through the 2024 season. Lopez was honored with a first-team all-conference selection in the NACC. In Lopez's three-year career at Dominican, she has scored 18 goals, collected 10 assists, with 4 game-winning goals in her 59 appearances in a Stars uniform.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek will be back in a Stars uniform this upcoming season, where she has been a huge part of the Dominican style of play on the outside. Matuszek is coming off a season where she scored 3 goals and added 6 assists while appearing in all 20 matches in the 2024 season. Matuszek earned first-team all-conference in the NACC last season.
-Senior Mia Taullahu is back for Dominican this upcoming year and is looking to continue creating havoc on the outside as a forward. Taullahu collected a goal and 6 assists in her 17 appearances in the 2024 season.
-Senior Mia Dosen will be back for the Stars in her second season at Dominican. She will be wearing a new number this season, changing from #34 to #10. Last season, Dosen collected 7 goals and 2 assists with 17 shots on goal in her 20 appearances.
-Sophomore Ariana Barney is looking to take another big step in her second season at Dominican. Barney finished her freshman campaign by having 6 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances. With this, Barney is tied for the most goal contributions from the 2024 season with 10.

Shining Stars:
-Freshman Logan Shanks had a strong campaign for the Stars, scoring 4 goals while having 28 shots, 16 of them being on target.
-Senior Sierra Rioux has been on fire for this Stars offense, scoring 4 goals so far this year. Rioux has also collected 42 shots, with 18 of those on target, and leads the squad with 6 assists this season.
-Senior Natalia Lopez has started all 18 games for the Stars and has scored 2 goals on 34 total shots. Lopez has also tallied 2 assists on the season and is top 4 in minutes on the team with 1414.
-Senior Sarah Matuszek has continued to put in a strong shift for the Stars, as the Senior fullback has collected 3 goals, 37 shots, and 17 shots on target. Matuszek has logged 1541 minutes so far this season.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger has notched 3 goals this season and has appeared in1543 minutes for DU. Klinger is 2nd on the team with 2 game-winning goals.
-Senior Mia Dosen has come on strong for Dominican the last couple of games and is now at the top of the squad in goals with 9 of them, scoring 5 goals in her last 3 games.
-Junior Meghan Wilhite scored her first collegiate hat trick against WLC during the regular season and has scored 7 goals on the season with 2 assists.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek has played in 14 games this season and has made 57 saves.


NACC Playoff Picture:
-Dominican is amid a five-game win streak heading into the NACC Semifinals.
-Last time DU was the 4th seed in the tournament was 2024.
-The Stars finished 4th with a record of 9-3 inside the NACC and finished with 27 points.
-#1 Illinois Tech defeated #8 Wisconsin Lutheran at home on Sunday by a final score of 5-1.
-The winner of DU/IIT will face the winner of #3 Edgewood at #2 MSOE in the NACC Championship on Saturday, November 8th, with the highest seed remaining as the host.


Scouting Report:
-Illinois Tech is 17-1-1 overall for the 2025 season and finished 12-0 inside the NACC.
-The Scarlet Hawks are 10-0-1 at home.
-IIT outscored its opponents 67-1 in NACC play. Dominican was the only team to score on the Scarlet Hawks.
-Illinois Tech has scored 86 goals in the 2025 season (4.53 goals per game) and has accumulated 475 shots (25 shots per game).
