River Forest, Ill. – The #4 Dominican University Women's Soccer team looked to upset #1 Illinois Tech on the road in the NACC Semifinals on Wednesday.

Results:
Dominican: 0
Illinois Tech: 4

How it Happened:
-Dominican put an emphasis on defense at the beginning of the game.
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek was lights out in the first 21 minutes, as the goalkeeper made 5 saves.
-Illinois Tech broke through the stout DU defense in the 38^th minute and opened up the scoring.
-The Stars went into the break trailing 1-0.
-The Scarlet Hawks doubled their lead in the 52^nd minute and added a third in the 68^th minute.
-Senior Sierra Rioux had Dominican's best chance of the night, but her shot was saved by Illinois Tech's keeper.
-IIT tacked on a penalty kick goal in the 85^th minute and defeated the Stars by a final score of 4-0.

  Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Gianna Stanek notched 9 saves.
-Senior Sierra Rioux fired a shot on target and played all 90 minutes.
-Senior Kamryn Klinger, Senior Sarah Matuszek, and Senior Natalia Lopez all logged 90 minutes.

What's Next:
With the defeat, Dominican University Women's Soccer finishes its season with a 12-6-1 record and went 9-3 in the NACC. The Stars posted an impressive 6-2-1 record at West Campus Field.
