Men's Basketball Gears Up for Lawrence

River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team hosts its final non-conference game of the season against Lawrence University on Saturday.

Series History vs. Lawrence:
All-Time Record / Streak: 1-3 / W1
-Dominican and Lawrence first played on 11/16/2007 in River Forest, Ill. (L, 87-72).
-The Stars defeated the Vikings in their previous game at Lawrence on 12/21/2024 (85-65).
-DU averages 69.5 points per game against Lawrence and is 0-2 at home.

DU in Review:
-The Stars are 1-9 (1-3 NACC) on the 2025-2026 season.
-DU is 1-3 at home this campaign.
-Dominican closed the 2024-2025 season with an 8-17 record, including going 5-13 in conference and 5-8 at home.
-The Stars missed out on the NACC Tournament last season and are looking to make it back into the playoff picture for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Head Coach Troy Tonsil enters his 3rd season at the helm of the Men's Basketball program at Dominican. Tonsil has amassed a career record of 18-32.

 
Last Time Out:
 -Concordia Wisconsin broke away from the Stars in the second half of Wednesday night's game, as DU fell by a final score of 81-55.
 -Sophomore Braydon Murphy contributed 8 points, 5 blocks, and 16 boards. Murphy achieved a tie for 5th in most blocks in a game and a tie for 4th in most rebounds in a game in Dominican's Division III history.
-Senior Dominic Crapia notched 13 points on 5-10 shooting alongside 6 rebounds and a steal.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski added 13 points and was 3-9 from three.

Shining Stars:
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy is averaging almost a double-double to start the season, leading the team in rebounds per game with 8.9, and is 3rd in points per game with 13.1. Murphy also leads DU in assists with 24 and blocks with 20.
-Freshman Elijah Daugherty has provided a spark off the bench for Dominican this season. Daugherty is averaging 12.1 points per game and is shooting .410 from the field.
-Sophomore Frank Paszkowski leads the Stars in three-pointers made with 27 and is shooting .375 behind the arc while dropping 13.2 points per game.
-Freshman Chase LeFevre is 3rd in assists for the Stars, collecting 18 so far in 2025-26.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski rounds out the top four in scoring for DU, dropping an average of 12.8 points per game.

Familiar Faces:
-Senior Dominic Crapia enters his 4th season as a reliable 3-point shooter for the Stars. Crapia shot .359 from beyond the arc in 2024-25 and is in the joint lead in returners with 28 3-pointers made.
-Sophomore Lucas Underwood had a successful start to his collegiate career last campaign, averaging 5.6 points per game and had 28 3-pointers made.
-Senior Adrian Pelszynski will return as an integral part of Dominican's frontcourt. Pelszynski averaged 13.2 minutes per game last year alongside 4.5 points per game.
-Sophomore Braydon Murphy looks to improve upon a strong freshman season, as the center chipped in 2.7 points per game alongside 2.5 rebounds per game in a more limited role.  

Scouting Report:
-Lawrence is 6-3 (1-2 MWC) to start the 2025-2026 season.
-The Vikings are 3-2 away from home.
-Lawrence is amid a two-game losing streak, dropping decisions to Wisconsin-Whitewater at home and Monmouth on the road.
-The Vikings average 75.1 points per game, shoot .449 from the field, .387 from three, and average 37.7 rebounds per game.
