River Forest, Ill. – Men's and Women's Basketball closed out the 2024-25 campaign, Men's Volleyball hosted Alumni Night, Baseball began the 2025 season in Arkansas, and Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field competed in the Margaret Bradley Invitational
 
Men's Basketball entered the final week of the season with a pair of home games remaining on their schedule. On Wednesday night, DU fell in a tight contest against Edgewood College by a final of 91-93. Senior Terrell Taylor was at the front of the Stars' offense, tallying 23 points and shooting 10-15 from the field. 5th-year Student Andre Bennet totaled 16 points in the defeat. The Stars looked to end the season on a high while hosting Aurora University for Senior Day on Saturday. After a dunk by 5th-year Student Camron Scott did not beat the buzzer, DU and Aurora would head to overtime, where the Stars would prevail 101-97 after a pair of clutch free-throws from Senior Daniel Nennig. T. Taylor would again lead the Stars in scoring, posting another 23 points while adding 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. Scott finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds: his 8th double-double of the season. Nennig collected 17 points and 5 assists in the victory. DUMBB finished the season with an 8-17 overall record, including 5-13 in the NACC and 5-8 at home.

Women's Basketball finished off their season with two road contests. On Wednesday night, the Stars were unable to limit Edgewood College's potent offense, and DU would fall by a final of 57-97. Freshman Danielle Washington was a threat from three, going 4-6 on route to a 14-point performance. Sophomore Kaitlyn Milison posted a team-high 15 points along with 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and a steal. Dominican would then travel to Wisconsin Lutheran College on Saturday, where they were unable to end the season with a win, dropping the contest 36-72. Graduate Student Melissa Gomez led DU with 10 points, followed by Milison's 7. DUWBB ended the 2024-25 campaign with a 5-20 record, which includes a 1-15 record in conference and a 2-10 record at home.

 Men's Volleyball first traveled to Augustana College to face the Vikings on Wednesday night. After falling into a two sets to one deficit, the Stars would claw their way back into the match and win in five. Sophomore Ty Geschke finished the match with a team-high 17 kills on .412 hitting while adding 2 blocks and an ace. Senior Nathaniel Cossyleon totaled 16 kills and 8 digs in his first start of the season. The Stars would then be back at home on Saturday to face Marian University on Alumni Night. DU would start the match on fire and would ultimately sweep the Sabres. Sophomore Ty Geschke led the Dominican attack with 16 kills on .464 hitting. Senior Casey Goss posted 9 kills, 6 digs, and 2 blocks in the win. DUMVB will host Aurora University in a rematch of the 2024 NACC Tournament Championship on Thursday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. The match is a blue out, and the first 100 students will receive a free shirt upon entry. The Stars will then head to Edgewood College on Saturday, March 1st, where the match between DU and EC will begin at 1:00 p.m.

Baseball opened its 2025 season with a pair of contests in Conway, Arkansas on Sunday. The first game saw the Stars take on New York University, with New York claiming an 11-4 victory after posting three runs in the top of the 5th inning which proved to be too much for DU to overcome. Graduate Student Grayson Downing went 1-4 in the contest, including an RBI and a walk. Junior Zach Helein was 2-4 at the plate and had an RBI and a walk. Dominican would then go on to defeat Hendrix College 7-5 later in the day. Clutch hitting in the 8th and 9th innings pushed the Stars to victory. G. Downing was 3-5 including an RBI and scored twice. Senior Rocco Chiarito was given the nod to start and was strong on the mound, pitching 7 innings with 2 strikeouts. DUBB will close out their trip to Arkansas with another game against Hendrix on Monday, February 24th at 11:00 a.m. before heading to Orlando, Florida for the RussMatt Tournament, which sees the Stars play 8 games over 9 days.

Dominican University Softball will begin their 2025 season in Flordia on March 2nd with two games. The first being against Lebanon Valley College at 12:30 p.m. CT and the second being at 2:45 p.m. CT against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. This will being their spring break trip where the Stars will play 10 games in 7 days. 
 
Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field competed in the Margaret Bradley Invitational on Saturday. Senior Avery Brown finished 8th in the Women's Shot-Put event after posting a throw of 9.89 meters. Freshman Mary Bitter posted a time of 13:44.01 in the Women's 3000m, which placed her in 12th. In the Women's 60m, Freshman Emmanuella Out finished with a time of 9.83. For the Men's 60m, Sophomore Jose Murillo posted a time of 7.76. In the Men's 1 Mile, Freshman Jamie Favela registered a 4:54.87, followed closely by Sophomore Diego Valdivia at 4:58.93. DUT&F will shift their focus to the NACC Championship, held in Kenosha, Wisconsin between Friday, February 28th, and Saturday, March 1st.


Star of the Week Athletes for the week of February 16th to February 23rd:
 
Senior Avery Brown of Women's Track & Field received Women's Star of the Week honors. Brown's throw of 9.89 meters secured her an 8th-place finish.

Sophomore Ty Geschke of Men's Volleyball was nominated as Men's Star of the Week. In two matches, Geschke totaled 33 kills and hit a combined .435. Geschke also added 4 aces and three blocks in DU's two wins.
