Conway, Ark. – Dominican University Baseball wrapped up their trip to Arkansas against Hendrix College on Monday.
Results:
Dominican: 6

How it Happened:
-Dominican would take a 3-0 lead at the top of the 1
st inning after Senior
Quinton Schwartz would reach second on an error, scoring Senior
Ryan Schmidt, Junior
Niko Krecu, and Graduate Student
Grayson Downing.
-DU extended their lead to 4-0 in the top of the 3
rd inning after Schwartz's sacrifice fly that scored Junior
Matthew Earley.
-Hendirx would strike back in the bottom of the 6
th inning with a sacrifice fly of their own, making the score 4-1 in favor of the Stars.
-In the bottom of the 7
th, Hendrix would claw to within one after a two RBI double.
-The Stars would answer right back in the top of the 8
th after G. Downing's double to left center field, scoring Senior
Gavin Zappe, making it a 5-3 ball game.
-DU would add insurance in the top of the 9
th with another Schwartz sacrifice fly that scored Earley.
-Senior
Spencer Anton would collect the save as Dominican would defeat Hendrix by a final of 6-3.
-Dominican finished with 8 hits and 0 errors in the victory.

Grayson Downing went 3-5 at the plate, which included an RBI double, and a run scored.

Dominican University Baseball team improves to 2-1 on the season after their trip to Conway. The Stars will head to Orlando, Florida for the RussMatt tournament, which sees DU take on the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg first on Saturday, March 1
