River Forest, Ill. – Men's Volleyball continues their march to the NACC tournament, Baseball dives deeper into their conference slate, Softball had their home opener, and Golf and Track and Field kicked off their spring schedules.
After their epic five set come from behind victory at Wisconsin Lutheran, Men's Volleyball had a week to recover before taking on MSOE in Milwaukee on Saturday. The Stars struggled offensively and fell in straight sets to the Raiders. Sophomore Ty Geschke provided 16 kills and 6 digs, while Senior Tanner Dahman notched 13 kills and 2 blocks in the defeat. DUMVB will wrap up their regular season with two matches over the week. First, Dominican will travel to River Forest rivals Concordia University Chicago on Wednesday, April 2
nd for a 7:00 p.m. start before returning home for Senior Night against Lakeland on Saturday, April 5
th. The Senior Night match will begin at 1:00 p.m.
Baseball had a pair of doubleheaders during the week, first splitting with CUC at Wintrust Field on Wednesday. The Stars took Game 1, 4-3, after Junior Zach Helein was hit by a pitch, which scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10
th inning. DU's bats went cold in Game 2 against CUC as Dominican fell by a final of 10-0. The Stars then made the trek to Concordia Wisconsin to face off against the Falcons but would drop both games of the series. 5 separate players would record RBIs for DU in the doubleheader at CUW. Baseball will be back on the road at Lakeland on Tuesday, April 1
st for a doubleheader against the Muskies, with Game 1 starting at 1:00 p.m. Following that, the Stars will return to Wintrust Field for Alumni Day against Marian University on Saturday, April 5
th. Game 1 against the Sabres will start at 12:00 p.m.
Softball had their home opener at Triton College on Saturday, March 29
th as the Stars looked to start conference play strong against Concordia Wisconsin. DU claimed the victory in Game 1, 5-2, off the back of a complete game and 4 strikeouts by Senior Emma Woodhouse. 5 players recorded RBIs for Dominican in the win. In Game 2, the Stars were unable to climb out of an early deficit, falling by a final of 7-2. Senior Hanna Voegtle had two consecutive 2 hit games with an RBI on the day. Softball will be back in action on Saturday, April 5
th at Marian for a double header. First pitch for Game 1 is slated for 12:00 p.m. A quick turnaround then sees the Stars at Aurora on Sunday, April 6
th, marking 4 games in 2 days. Game 1 at Aurora will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Golf opened their spring schedule at the Cougar Spring Shoot Out at Weibring Golf Club in Normal, Illinois on Friday, March 28th. Freshman Luka Stundins carded a team-best 89, with Freshman Zachary Rojahn, Freshman Clay Austin, and Senior Patrick Crampton all contributing to DU's team score. The Stars will be at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois for the Illinois College Blueboy Invite over Thursday, April 10
th through Friday, April 11
th.
Track and Field started their Outdoor portion of their schedule at North Central for the North Central 1
st Chance Invite. Freshman Jamie Favela placed 14
th in the Men's 5000m, posting a time of 16:14.67. Junior Adrian Ocana had a time of 2:11.36 in the Men's 800m. In the Men's 400m, Senior Oscar Meza-Quintero posted a time of 58.05. Senior Avery Brown tallied a throw of 9.28m in Women's Shot Put. Sophomore Fatima Duran ran a team-best 2:57.32 in the Women's 800m. DUT&F will be back in action at the Elmhurst Chicagoland Invite on Saturday, April 5
th.

Senior Hanna Voegtle of Softball was awarded Women's Star of the Week. Over two games, Voegtle recorded 4 hits and 2 RBIs, including the game-winning home run in DU's win over CUW.
Freshman Jamie Favela of Track and Field received Men's Star of the Week honors. Favela's 14
th place finish in the Men's 5000m marked the best finish for DU at the 1
st Chance Invite.
