River Forest, Ill. – Women's and Men's Basketball host Senior Day, while Men's Volleyball enters the top 20 for the first time this season.

Women's Basketball hosted its final two home games of the regular season last week, which started with a Wednesday night clash with Benedictine. After Benedictine took a 37-27 lead into halftime, the Stars could not mount the comeback, falling to the Eagles by a final score of 81-61. Junior Lia Saunders led the way for DU, totaling a team-high 13 points alongside 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Freshman Kennedy Yost came just shy of a double-double with 10 points and 8 rebounds. The Stars then turned their attention to Senior Day on Saturday against Wisconsin Lutheran. DU celebrated Senior Kamila Gajkowska and her commitment to the Women's Basketball program and the university. In the game, the Warriors' offense proved to be too much to handle for Dominican, as the Stars dropped their final home game of the season by a final score of 81-47. Gajkowska finished the game with 4 points and was 2-3 from the floor. Sophomore Allannah Jackson added 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. DUWBB will wrap up the season with a pair of road contests this week, which starts on Wednesday evening at Concordia Chicago at 5:00 p.m. Following Wednesday's game, the Stars will head to St. Norbert on Saturday, February 21st, for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off against the Green Knights.

Men's Basketball began the week at Benedictine on Wednesday night. After the Stars fell behind early, DU began to claw back into the game, outscoring the Eagles 43-32 in the second half, but BenU held on to take down Dominican by a final score of 78-70. Sophomore Frank Paszkowski led the Stars with 17 points and was 3-8 from deep. Junior Antony Fernandez had a career day with 15 points and was a perfect 5-5 from beyond the arc. On Saturday, Dominican honored Senior Dominic Crapia and Senior Adrian Pelszynski in the second leg of the Senior Day double-header against Wisconsin Lutheran. After a thrilling contest, the game was ultimately pushed to an extra frame, where Sophomore Braydon Murphy took over and secured an 82-80 victory for the Stars. Pelszynski totaled a season high 20 points, which included going 6-10 from three, while Crapia poured in 12 points alongside 6 rebounds. The Stars will conclude the season with two road contests this week, first at Concordia Chicago on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., followed by a matinee clash with St. Norbert on Saturday, February 21st, at 3:15 p.m.

Men's Volleyball entered the top 20 in this past week's AVCA DIII poll and was put to the test across a tough pair of matches that began at home against North Central on Thursday. After DU and NCC split the first two sets, the Stars were able to outlast the Cardinals in four. Junior Ty Geschke led the way for Dominican, totaling 18 kills alongside a pair of aces and 6 digs. Junior Thomas Hirsch added 10 kills and 3 aces. Following Thursday's victory, the Stars traveled to Dubuque, Iowa, to take on #12 Loras on Sunday. Each set was tight, as both squads traded off set wins to push the match to a decisive fifth. Loras ultimately came out on top, as Dominican fell in the fifth, 15-10. Geschke posted a season-high in kills with 22, followed by Sophomore Kendall Esparza, who added 16 kills and 8 digs.
