Fourth-Seeded Stars Bow Out in NACC Semifinal

Aurora, Ill. – Dominican University Men's Volleyball traveled to top seed and No. 11 Aurora University on Thursday for the NACC Tournament Semifinal.
 
 Results:
  Aurora: 3
  Dominican: 0

  How it Happened:
  -Dominican was composed to start the semifinal and sprinted to an 11-5 lead in the first set after a 6-0 run by Senior Casey Goss, which included 3 aces.
  -Aurora climbed back into the set and tied it at 17-17 after a 4-0 run.
  -The Spartans completed the comeback and took Set 1, 25-22. Senior Aaron Marrs totaled 4 kills and 3 digs in the first.
  -Both sides were evenly matched to begin the second set, with DU eventually taking a 13-10 lead after a kill by Junior Michael Greco.
  -Once again, Aurora continued to hang around and rallied to take a 19-17 lead after another 4-0 run.
  -Dominican fought back, but dropped the Set 2, 25-22. Sophomore Ty Geschke tallied 8 kills in the frame.
   -The Stars called a quick timeout after falling behind 5-1 in the third set.
  -Key substitutions led DU to reassert themselves in Set 3, taking a 15-12 lead after an ace by Senior Tanner Dahman.
  -The Spartans regained their footing and closed the match on a 12-4 run over the Stars and won Set 3, 25-19. Geschke added another 5 kills in the final frame.
  -The Stars finished with 41 digs to Aurora's 38.
 
  Shining Stars:
  -Sophomore Ty Geschke closed out his impressive Sophomore campaign with another strong performance, posting a team-high 15 kills on .344 hitting.
  -Senior Casey Goss ended his collegiate career with 7 kills and 3 aces on the night.
  -Sophomore Thomas Hirsch collected 3 kills and an ace.
  -Freshman Landon Kassulke distributed 14 assists.
  -Junior Tyler Vrska registered a team-high 10 digs in the defeat.

  What's Next:
  Dominican University Men's Volleyball finished the 2025 season with a 14-11 record and went 9-3 during the NACC regular season. The Stars had a final home record of 8-4.
