Verona, Wis. – Dominican University Baseball was back on the road for a NACC doubleheader against Edgewood College on Saturday..

How it Happened:
-Edgewood wasted no time getting the ballgame underway by taking an 8-0 lead after the bottom of the 1
st inning.
-The Eagles tacked on another run in the bottom of the 2
nd to make it 9-0.
-Senior
Gavin Zappe collected DU's first hit of the game in the top of the 3
rd with a single to right, followed by a single by Senior
Braiden Galvin. The Stars were unable to capitalize on the opportunity.
-Dominican exploded in their half of the third inning scoring 6 runs on 6 hits and taking advantage of 2 Aurora errors.
-Zappe collected his second single of the game in the top of the 4
th with Dominican still trailing 9-0.
-Edgewood added 3 more runs in the bottom of the 5
th inning and took Game 1 by a final of 12-0.

How it Happened:
-Edgewood started the scoring again in the bottom of the first with a solo shot to take a 1-0 lead.
-Senior
Quinton Schwartz would double to right field, but was left stranded in the top of the 2
nd.
-The Eagles jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 2
nd.
-In the top of the 6
th inning, DU cut the Edgewood lead in half after Senior
Gavin Zappe brought home Junior
Niko Krecu, who reached base after a walk earlier in the inning.
-Edgewood answer back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the 6
th inning to make the score 4-1.
-The score read 6-1 after the Eagles added a pair of runs in the bottom of the 8
th inning.
-Looking to start a rally, Zappe hit a lead-off double to right field in the top of the 9
th. Senior
Braiden Galvin then singled down the left field line, scoring Senior
AJ Davies, who pinch ran for Zappe.
-In the end, Dominican fell short in Game 2, 6-2.
