River Forest, Ill. – Softball battled for a place in the NCAA DIII Tournament during the 2025 NACC Tournament as the 2024-25 academic year finished.
Softball headed into the 2025 NACC Tournament as the No. 2 Seed, clinching a double bye into Friday. On Friday, the Stars came up short against No. 3 Seed Benedictine University. DU struck first in the bottom of the second, but five unanswered runs led to the Eagles over Dominican by a final of 5-2. Freshman Isabella Olmos and Senior Liliana Santoyo both went 2-4 with a run scored in the defeat. After the loss, the Stars had their backs against the wall and now had to face off against No. 5 Seed MSOE in an elimination game on Saturday. Despite MSOE scoring first, DU regathered in the bottom of the first and stayed alive, defeating the Raiders, 4-2. Senior Hanna Voegtle went a flawless 3-3 with an RBI and a run scored, with Santoyo and Junior
Ryley Davis collecting doubles in the win. This win over MSOE set Dominican up for a rematch against Benedictine, this time with the winner moving on to face No. 1 Seed Concordia Wisconsin. The Stars posted two runs in the bottom of the first inning after Santoyo scored on an error and a sacrifice fly by Sophomore Kailee Diaz Randall brought home Freshman Raegyn Davis. The Eagles, however, would score the next 6 runs, taking a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the seventh inning. With their backs against the wall, DU rattled off four runs in the final inning to stay alive and force extras. After a scoreless eighth inning, the Stars' season came to the end in the ninth, as BenU's 2 runs proved to be the difference. Softball fell by a final of 8-6. Santoyo completed the tournament with another impressive game, going 3-5 with two runs scored. Diaz Randall posted a line of 2-4 with 3 RBIs.
With the completion of the Softball season, all Dominican University Athletic programs look to turn the page to 2025-26.
Fall 2024
Men's Soccer finished the 2024 campaign with a 12-5-4 record, including a 8-1-3 record in the NACC and 7-2-2 at home. Senior John Cronnolly led DU in goals with 10, while 5
th-year Student Oleksandr Melnyk compiled a team-high 9 assists. DUMSOC's season came to an end in the NACC Tournament Semifinals at the hands of MSOE.
Women's Soccer amassed an 11-6-3 record during the 2025 season, with a 9-1-2 conference record and was 8-3-1 at home. Graduate Student Grace Larson paced the Stars in goals with 9, with Larson, Graduate Student Regan Coxon, Junior Sarah Matuszek, and Junior Mia Taullahu all registering a team-leading 6 assists. DUWSOC's season ended in the NACC Tournament Semifinals with a loss to MSOE.
Women's Volleyball went 12-13 during the 2024 campaign, including a 5-8 conference record and a home record of 7-3. Senior Tanya De La Riva paced DU with an average of 2.83 kills per set, while Senior Charlotte Hain led the Stars defensively with 2.76 digs per set. DUWVB did not qualify for the NACC Tournament.
Men's Cross Country had their best placement of 5
th in the Lewis Early Bird on Friday, September 6
th, 2024. Freshman Jaime Favela recorded the best time for Dominican at 21:28.55.
Women's Cross Country's best finish was also at the Lewis Early Bird on Friday, September 6
th, 2024, in 5
th place. Freshman Melanie Galarza paced DU with a time of 19:06.46.
Men's Basketball completed the 2024-25 season with an 8-17 record, including a 5-13 record in the NACC and a record of 5-8 at home. Senior Terrell Taylor posted a team high 15.4 points per game, while 5
th-year Student Camron Scott led DU with 8.1 rebounds per game. DUMBB did not qualify for the NACC Tournament.
Women's Basketball was 5-20, 1-15 in conference, and 2-10 at home during the 2024-25 campaign. Graduate Student Melissa Gomez posted team highs of 10.7 points per game and 4.7 assists per game. DUWBB did not qualify for the NACC Tournament.
Spring 2025
Men's Volleyball finished the 2025 season with a 14-11 overall record, including 9-3 in conference and 8-4 at home. Sophomore Ty Geschke led the Stars offensively with 3.62 kills per set, while Sophomore Grant Henderson held down the back row at 1.97 digs per set. DUMVB's season came to an end in the NACC Tournament Semifinals in a loss to Aurora University.

th. Sophomore Diego Valdivia finished 1
st in the Men's 1500-meter dash with a time of 4:17.18 at the Concordia Invite.

Golf had their best placement of 9

nd. Freshman Luka Stundins carded a 79 for the tournament, leading DU.
Baseball finished the 2025 season with an 18-22 overall record, including 9-15 in the NACC and 9-6 at home. Junior Matthew Earley collected a team-high 42 RBIs, with Freshman Ethan Buckner and Senior CJ Kalekas each picking up 4 wins on the mound. DUBASE did not qualify for the NACC Tournament.
Softball ended the 2025 campaigh with an overall record of 31-12 with a 19-5 conference record and was 11-3 at home. Freshman Raegyn Davis posted a team-leading 34 RBIs while Senior Emma Woodhouse notched 18 wins in the circle. DUSOFT's season was cut short by Benedictine University in the NACC Tournament Semifinals.
