Montgomery, Ill. - #2 Seeded Dominican University faced off with the #3 Seeded Benedictine University Eagles, with the winner going to the NACC Tournament Championship Game.

How it Happened:
-The Stars got the scoring going in their half of the first inning with Junior
Ryley Davis reaching on an error by the third baseman that brought home Senior
Liliana Santoyo. Sophomore
Kailee Diaz Randall was the next batter and hit a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Freshman
Raegyn Davis.
-Benedictine responded in a big way, scoring 4 runs on 4 hits in the top of the second inning.
-The score held at 4-2 in favor of the Eagles until the 5
th when BenU added a run on a hit and an error.
-Benedictine added an insurance run in the top of the 7
th inning on 2 hits and an error, making the score 6-2 with Dominican down to their final three outs of the season.
-DU did not give up, though, with Freshman
Isabella Olmos hitting an RBI single to center field, scoring Santoyo. Diaz Randall brought the game within one run with a 2 RBI double to left center field, scoring Olmos and Senior
Priscylla Rutter. Dominican needed one more run to tie the game up, and Freshman
Kayla Amormino drew a huge bases-loaded walk, scoring Junior
Leilani Guzman.
-After the 4-run bottom of the 7
th inning for the Stars, we played FREE SOFTBALL in the NACC Semi-Finals.
-Benedictine got the lead-off hitter on but was unable to get a run across the board keeping the score tied at 6.
-DU followed suit getting the lead-off hitter on but also was unable to get the winning run across the board.
-The Eagles found an answer, scoring 2 runs on 2 hits, making the score 8-6 in favor of Benedictine University.
-Dominican came to bat in their half of the 9
th, but did not get a runner on after two line-outs in the inning.
Shining Stars:
-Sophomore
Kailee Diaz Randall was a huge part of the Stars success in this one, going 2-4 with 3 RBIs and a double.
-Freshman
Isabella Olmos ended her freshman campaign going 2-4 with a run scored, an RBI, and a walk.
-Senior
Liliana Santoyo went out with a bang, going 3-5 with 2 runs scored.
-Senior
Gillian Czubernat ended her collegiate career in a big way, going 2-4.
-Senior
Priscylla Rutter had a great final game in DU uniform, going 1-2 with a run scored.

What's Next:
Dominican University Softball finished their 2025 campaign with a 31-12 overall record, finishing 19-5 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). 11-3 on their home turf and 13-3 on the road. The Dominican University softball program will be back in action in 2026, looking to make their return to the NACC Tournament for the 6
th straight year.
