Greencastle, Ind. – Dominican University Women's Volleyball faced off against Trine University for their final match of the DePauw Invitational.

Trine: 3
Dominican: 0
How It Happened:
-The Thunder of Trine started the match on an 8-0 run before a service error, giving the Stars their first point of the match.
-Senior
Ellery Shea got back-to-back kills for DU and would collect 6 kills in the first, but Dominican would fall 25-14.
-The second set saw more competitive play between Dominican and Trine, with the Stars holding a 15-13 lead after kills from Freshman
Karolina Stonkus and Senior
Veronica Henkel.
-The set was tied at 23 when DU had a service error, and Trine put away Dominican on the next play.
-The Stars found themselves in another tightly contested third set, and winning the set after Henkel buries two kills to make the score 10-9.
-Shortly after, Trine went on a 5-0 run, making the score 19-12 in favor of the Thunder.
-Dominican would lose the third and final set of the match while picking up 6 kills in the set.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Ellery Shea led the way for the Stars with 10 kills and an assist.
-Senior
Veronica Henkel added another 8 kills to her name with 6 digs in the match.
-Freshman
Karolina Stonkus has continued to show out in her freshman campaign, collecting 21 assists and 4 digs.
-Sophomore
Fabiana Pizzo led Dominican with 15 digs.

What's Next:
Dominican University Women's Volleyball moves to 0-3 on the season. The Stars will be back in action on Tuesday, September 9
th, for their home opener against Beloit College, with first serve slated for 7:00 p.m.
