Lisle, Ill.—The Dominican University Men's Soccer team traveled to Benedictine University for a conference match against the Eagles.

How It Happened:
-Dominican had the shot, the first shot of the game, which came from Sophomore Eduardo Lopez that flew out left. Junior Jonathan Almaguer tallied the first shot on goal for the Stars, quickly followed by another shot from Lopez, which was on target.
-After two Benedictine shots, Senior Tristen Banquil got the ball back to fire his first shot of the game.
-The Stars ended the first half 0-0 after Junior Roberto Mercado Navarro saved a shot on goal from the Eagles.
-DU started the second half hot, with Banquil finding the back of the net for his 6th goal of the season. Almaguer recorded the assist on the Banquil goal.
-After a yellow card on Senior Tristan Manuel, Benedictine capitalized with a shot on goal. Freshman Alexander Garcia saved the Eagles' shot to keep their lead.
-Junior Juan Carlos Munoz attempted to extend the lead with his shot on goal but was stopped by the Benedictine goalkeeper. Moments after a foul on Dominican, Benedictine fought for the ball in the box and found the back of the net to tie the game at 1.
-Banquil fired a shot on goal in the 89th minute to try to put his team in the win column, but his shot was saved by the Eagles' goalkeeper. Dominican finished the game in a draw.

-Senior Tristen Banquil had the lone goal for the Stars, along with 2 shots on goal and 4 shots.
-Junior Jonathan Almaguer had one shot on goal and an assist on the Banquil goal.
-Sophomore Eduardo Lopez recorded 1 shot on goal on 2 shots.
-Junior Juan Carlos Munoz had 1 shot on goal.
-Junior Roberto Navarro Mercado had 1 save.
-Freshman Alexander Garcia had 1 save.

Dominican University Men's Soccer moves to 4-5-4 (2-4-4 NACC) on the season. The Stars will return to West Campus Field on Saturday, October 24th, to face Wisconsin Lutheran College. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
