River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Basketball team prepares for the 2026-2027 season and kicks it off hosting Principia College for a Home Opener Blue Out.



Series History vs Principia:

-Dominican and Principia first matchup was on 11/20/2021 inside the Igini Sports Forum. The Stars lost 83-94.

DU in Review:
-This will be the first game for DU in the new season.
-Dominican had a record of 2-23 and looking to have a comeback season. The Stars went 2-16 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

-DUMBB missed the tournament last season and has hopes to get back into the NACC tournament for the first time since the 2021-2022 season.
-Dominican is looking to start their season off with a home in their home gym.
 
Familiar Faces:
-Junior Frank Paszkowski is looking to continue his impressive Dominican career. Paskowski recorded 376 points last season and started in 22 games. Paskowski averaged 15.0 points while shooting 35% from the 3-point line. He also tallied 92 rebounds, 26 assists, 20 steals, and 13 blocks.
-Junior Braydon Murphy had a stellar sophomore season last year. Murphy scored 302 points and led his team with 37 blocks. Murphy led his team with 213 rebounds. He also started in 23 games and recorded 650 minutes. Murphy averaged 27.1 minutes per game.
-Senior Dean O'Brien looks to finish his Dominican career on a high note. O'Brien scored 77 points last season while starting in 14 games. He tallied 29 defensive rebounds.
-Junior Ismael Ndiaye Matheu is expected to have a standout junior year. Ndiaye started in 24 games while averaging 22.9 minutes a game. The Spain native scored 105 points last season while shooting 70% from the free throw line. Ndiaye tallied an impressive 18 steals.
-Sophomore Joseph Jones looks to make an impact in his second season in a Stars uniform. Jones recorded 311 minutes and played in 24 games last season. He scored 90 points and led his team with a 42% from the 3-point line. Jones had 9 steals and 35 rebounds.

-Principia went 5-20 in the 2025-2026 season and was 2-14 in their conference.
-The Panthers were 1-12 on the road last season.
-Principia scored 1,660 points last season, while averaging 66.8 points per game. Opponents averaged 87.4 points against them.
