River Forest, Ill. – Men's Volleyball hosts a tri-match, Women's and Men's Basketball wrap up the 2025-26 season, Softball begins its season at the Bethany Lutheran Dome Tournament,  and Track and Field participate in the Margaret Bradley Invitational during a jam-packed week of DU athletics.

Men's Volleyball moved up to #18 this week in the AVCA Division III MVB Poll, released on February 17th.  The Stars took the floor in a pair of matches on Saturday, with Rockford and Wisconsin-Stevens Point making the trip to River Forest. In the first match, DU took care of business against Rockford, taking the Regents down in straight sets. 9 separate Stars recorded a kill in the match, and the attack was led by Junior Thomas Hirsch, who posted 10 kills on .500 hitting alongside an ace and 4 blocks. The second match of the day saw Dominican take on Wisconsin-Stevens Point. After DU gained a 2-0 lead, the Pointers stormed back to push the match to a decisive fifth set. The Stars ultimately prevailed against UWSP, winning the fifth set 15-8. Junior Ty Geschke came up big for DU, with 23 kills and 2 aces. Geschke notched his 500th career kill in the victory, while Sophomore Landon Kassulke 's 58 assists in the match put him in a tie for 3rd for assists in a single match. DUMVB will travel to MSOE on Friday, February 27th, for a match against #19 MSOE at 7:00 p.m., before returning home Saturday, February 28th, to take on Edgewood at 4:00 p.m.

Women's Basketball had a pair of road contests to conclude the 2025-26 season, which started on Wednesday night at Concordia Chicago. The Stars and Cougars played a tight contest, where DU held a small lead throughout the duration of the second half. CUC stormed back in the final moments of the game, where Dominican ultimately fell by a final score of 69-67. Junior Lia Saunders was the offensive leader for DU, totaling 17 points and was a perfect 4-4 from the line. Sophomore Allannah Jackson stuffed the stat sheet once again with 9 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals. Following Wednesday's defeat, DU look to end the year with a win at St. Norbert on Saturday. The Stars hung with the Green Knights in the first half, only trailing by nine heading into half time. SNC pulled away in the second half, and Dominican would fall by a final score of 76-58. Freshman Kennedy Yost posted a team-high 16 rebounds along with 7 rebounds. Despite falling shore of the NACC Tournament, Women's Basketball had a stellar season, as their 10-15 record was the team's best since the 2019-2020 season, where Dominican finished with a 19-8 overall record.

Men's Basketball closed out the season with the same slate as Women's Basketball. On Wednesday, the Stars carried a 39-33 advantage into halftime, but Concordia Chicago regrouped and outscored DU 44-30 in the second half, where the Dominican fell by a final of 77-69. Sophomore Braydon Murphy added to his impressive numbers this season with 15 points and 8 rebounds in the defeat. The Stars looked to finish the year with a victory in the win column on Saturday, taking on St. Norbert in the second leg of the back-to-back. The Green Knights high-flying offense proved to be too much to overcome for Dominican, as the Stars came up short by a final score of 87-49. Murphy and Junior Dean O'Brien reached double-figures in scoring for DU. The Stars finished the 2025-26 season with a 2-23 record and were 2-10 in the Igini Sports Forum.
 
Softball opened its 2026 campaign at the Bethany Lutheran Dome Tournament, which saw the Stars play four games across Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, Dominican first took on the hosts, Bethany Lutheran. DU fell behind early and could not generate a comeback, falling in the first game of the season by a score of 8-1. Senior Ryley Davis and Sophomore Isabella Olmos shined at the plate for the Stars, combining for 2 triples, a double, and an RBI. In the second game on Saturday, Dominican fell to St. Olaf by a score of 8-0. Sophomore Sara Cornell finished the game with a hit and a walk. The Stars looked to turn the page on Sunday, starting with a matchup with #5 Saint Mary's of Minnesota. The Stars took the lead after scoring two runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning: however, St. Mary's stormed back to take the game by a final score of 5-2. In the last game of the weekend, Hamline took an early 5-0 lead, but Olmos answered with a solo shot in the bottom of the third. The Stars struggled to generate more offense and dropped their final game of the weekend to Hamline by a score of 5-1. Softball will have time to prepare for The Spring Games tournament, taking place from March 8th to March 14th in Central Florida.
 
Track and Field returned to action this past Saturday at the Margaret Bradley Invitational, hosted by the University of Chicago. The Men's squad was led by Freshman Samuel Malke, who placed 7th in the Men's 800-Meter with a time of 1:58.74. Freshman Alberto Diaz took 19th in the Men's Mile, and Sophomore Aaron Guadarrama finished 12th in the Men's Shot Put. The Women's team was headed by Senior Emma Brosnihan, who finished in 16th in the Women's 800-meter with a time of 2:50.66, and Freshman Sarai Palma, who took home a 16th place finish in the Women's 60-meter, with a time of 9.22. Freshman Sheila Leon took 18th in the 60-meter and 20th in the Women's 200-meter. DUT&F will wrap up the indoor portion of its schedule with the NACC Indoor Championships on Friday, February 27th through Saturday, February 28th.
