River Forest, Ill. – The Dominican University Men's Soccer team continues on their four game home stretch with hosting Concordia Wisconsin on Wednesday afternoon.

How It Happened:
-The Falcons came out firing, having 3 shots in the first 20 minutes of the game, then finding the back of the net with their 4
th shot, making the score 1-0 in the 23
rd minute.
-Dominican found the ball when Freshman
Cristian Garcia and Sophomore
Christopher Hastings both had shots on goal but were saved by the Falcons' goalkeeper. In the last minute of the half Sophomore
Jonathan Almaguer connected with the ball and tallied a shot on target, which was stopped by the goalkeeper.
-The Stars went into halftime down 1-0 and recorded 5 shots.
-DU brought a fire into the second half, starting with Senior
Tristen Banquil firing a shot on goal that was saved.
-The Stars got on the board from a 69th-minute goal from Almaguer to tie it at 1, Sophomore
Rogelio Cisneros collected the assist.
-Junior
Alexander Garcia had a timely save to keep the momentum going for the Stars.
-Banquil got fouled right at the edge of the arc, which resulted in a free kick. Banquil found the back of the net for his 3
rd goal of the season to make the score 2-1.
-Two minutes later, Banquil found the ball again to fire a shot in the Falcons' net to make it 3-1. Junior
Rounak Nanda and Freshman
Aaron Nevarez recorded the assists on the Banquil goal. This was each of their first assists in a Stars uniform.
-Banquil attempted to go for the hat trick, but his 4
th shot on goal was stopped by the goalkeeper.
-In the 84
th minute, CUW found the net from a corner kick to make the score 3-2.
-Dominican's defense finished the game strong to tally a win in conference play.
Shining Stars:
-Senior
Tristen Banquil earned Star of the Match. Banquil had a career high of 2 goals while collecting 4 shots, with all 4 of those being on target.
-Junior
Jonathan Almaguer recorded his first goal of the season while also having an assist and 2 shots on target. Almaguer also played all 90 minutes.
-Junior
Rounak Nanda tallied an assist and 1 shot on goal in 2 shots.
-Sophomore
Rogelio Cisneros was strong in the midfield, where he collected an assist.
-Freshman
Aaron Nevarez tallied his first career assist.
-Freshman
Alexander Garcia collected 2 saves in the win.
