Wheaton, Ill. – The Dominican University Women's Soccer team continues their opening weekend at the Wheaton College Tournament. They faced Wheaton College Saturday night.

How it Happened:
-DU set the tone early with a shot on target from Senior Rachelle Pinto in the 2nd minute.
-The Stars got on the board thanks to a goal from Pinto in the 14th minute, her first goal of the season.
- Dominican's defense held the Warriors to zero shots in the first period, while the Stars shot off three and had 5 corner kicks.
-The Stars started off the second period with a shot on target from Sophomore MK Kluesner, which was saved by the Warriors' goalkeeper.
-DU shut the door and kept Wheaton from scoring thanks to three saves by Junior Gianna Stanek.
-The Stars kept firing, with a shot on target by Freshman Claire Nelson, followed by two more shots from Pinto, and then a shot from Senior Mackenzie Cuddihy to finish the game.
Shining Stars:
-Senior Rachelle Pinto earned Star of the Match, where she scored the only goal of the game. Pinto had 4 shots, with two on target.
-Sophomore MK Kluesner had 1 shot with one on target and played all 90 minutes.
-Freshman Claire Nelson showed out, registering 1 shot and one on target.
-Junior Gianna Stanek was a wall with 2 saves.
