Joe Belmonte, a four-year letterwinner and two-time All-CCIW first baseman at North Park, joins the Dominican University baseball coaching staff for the 2015-16 season under fifth-year head coach Steve Hardman.

Belmonte appeared in 143 games for the Vikings from 2012-2015, posting a career .335 batting average with 177 career hits, including 26 doubles. The Elk Grove native drove in 102 career RBIs to rank in the top 15 all-time in Vikings’ history. Additionally, his 417 putouts in 2014 set the Vikings’ single-season mark while his 1,096 career putouts is best in the program. As a freshman in 2012, Belmonte appeared in 23 games, posting a .426 batting average with 15 runs batted in and a .486 on-base percentage to help North Park to the 2012 CCIW title.

In addition to his collegiate playing experience, Belmonte has been active on the instructional side of baseball, working with Game Day USA as a lead instructor since 2012 and this summer served as an assistant coach with the Wheaton White Sox.
