After receiving his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Dominican University in January 2013, Jon Basinski joined the Dominican University baseball staff as an assistant coach. Basinski earned two letters with the Stars (2011, 2012) after transferring to Dominican University from Illinois State University in the Fall of 2010.
In two seasons with the Stars, Basinski posted a .340 career batting average, the fifth highest career batting average for the Stars since Dominican joined the NCAA Division III ranks in 2000. The Chicago Ridge native amassed 84 career hits in 247 at-bats, scoring 63 runs and driving in 33. Add in 27 hit-by-pitch and 27 walks and Basinski’s .455 on-base percentage ranks second on the Stars’ all-time list while his 28-for-35 stolen base attempts ranks in the program’s top five all-time for stolen bases.
