Jesus Velasco begins his second season serving as the Dominican men’s soccer program’s goalkeeper coach.
Velasco, a Chicago native, graduated from Whitney Young High School and went on to have a decorated playing career at Roosevelt University.
Collegiately, Jesus was a 4-year starting goalkeeper while earning CCAC Freshman of the Year, CCAC First Team, and All-Region honors in 2015. His 2015 season also saw his team win the conference regular season and tournament championships while appearing in the NAIA National Tournament.
Velasco has extensive goalkeeping coaching experience working with Drive Goalkeeping, the Lyons Township Soccer Club, the Oakbrook Soccer Club, and City Soccer Club.
Jesus graduated from Roosevelt with his B.A. in Psychology in 2019 and his M.A. in clinical Psychology in 2022.
