Lio Tovar, a former All-American with the Dominican University men’s soccer program, returns as an assistant coach under head coach Erick Baumann. During his four-year career with the Stars, Tovar racked up a total of 84 points on 30 goals and 24 assists.
Throughout his career, Tovar helped the Stars to a 76-9-6 overall record, including four appearances in the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer national tournament. In 2009, Tovar helped Dominican to a national semi-final appearance for the first time in program history. The following year, as a junior, Tovar collected eight goals and four assists to earn National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) First Team All-America honors.
