Marc Calabretta

Marc Calabretta returns for his third season on the men’s soccer staff with more than five seasons of collegiate coaching on his resume, most recently as an assistant at Goucher College in Baltimore from 2005-2008. During his four years with the Gophers he also spent some time teaching middle school physical education and worked public relations for the Baltimore Ravens. In 2007, he earned his Master’s degree from Goucher in education with emphasis in athletic administration and leadership.

His coaching career started at the U-10 boys’ level in 2002, and in 2003, he took positions with the Virginia Olympic Development Program as well as the Roanoke College men’s soccer program. While at Roanoke, the program produced a 10-4-3 record, four players were named All-Conference and two were named NSCAA All-South Region. Calabretta’s recruiting influence was still felt in the 2004 season when the team made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament after winning the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season title and tournament championship.

Calabretta also had an exceptional playing career, as he was a member of three Salisbury University teams that won Capital Athletic Conference championships, giving them the right to three NCAA Tournament appearances. In 1999, the squad reached the Elite Eight and was crowned South Region champions. His high school accomplishments are highlighted by being a Baltimore County All-Star selection in both soccer and lacrosse, as well as being named the Baltimore County Northeast Athlete of the Year in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, all in his senior year.

Currently residing in Chicago, Calabretta’s full-time position is as assistant athletic director and head of physical education, health and wellness at Morgan Park Academy.
