Dalton Solbrig joined the DU men's volleyball coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2023. Solbrig works primarily with Middles, and also assists in opponent scout and recruiting.
In his first season with the Stars, he helped guide the Stars to a NACC Regular Season and Tournament Conference Championship and into the NCAA Round of 16. He was part of the NACC Coaching Staff of the Year, and also mentored Middles Jason Kougan and Michael Greco in which they both collected NACC Second Team All Conference Awards.
Dalton Solbrig boasts an impressive background as both a volleyball player and a coach. As a professional volleyball player, the Middle Blocker culminated the highest hitting percentage in the history of the University of Hawai’i Men's Volleyball program. This achievement was further underscored by his team's second-place finish in the 2019 D1 NCAA tournament.
Solbrig's professional playing career extended to international competitions, where he joined OK Mladost Ribola Kastela in 2019-2020. His time with the team yielded significant success, including winning the Croatian League and advancing to the second round of the Challenge Cup. He was also recognized as the Best Blocker/Attacker. He then joined SVG Lueneburg from 2020 to 2022. During this period, he once again showcased his prowess as a Middle Blocker by achieving the highest hitting percentage for the 2021-2022 season.
Transitioning to the coaching realm, Solbrig joined the Adversity Volleyball Club in 2022, where he has been actively engaged in coaching boys and girls teams..
