Gretchen Galasek, a 2011 graduate of Lake Forest College, joins the Dominican University softball coaching staff for the 2013-2014 season. In the circle for the Foresters, Galasek tossed just the 11th no-hitter in program history, as she held the Wheaton College Thunder hitless in her first career start on March 29, 2008. For her career, Galasek racked up 169.2 innings pitched in two seasons, leading Lake Forest in innings pitched in 2008 and 2009. In 38 career appearances, Galasek recorded 81 strikeouts while holding opposing hitters to a .276 batting average, earning All-Midwest Conference South Division First Team honors in 2008.
In addition to her collegiate playing days, Galasek starred locally around the Oak Park-River Forest community, playing at Oak Park-River Forest High School in addition to the Oak Park-River Forest Windmills softball club.
