Dominican University Athletics

Ashley Yu joined the Dominican University athletic department as the Coordinator of Intramurals, Club Sports & Camps and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach in November of 2020.

In her two seasons on the Stars' bench, she has helped the program to two straight NACC tournament appearances, three first team all-conference award winners, a second team all-conference award winner, and a program first, Freshman of the Year.

At the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season, Yu was named to the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) prestigious 30 Under 30 list, recognizing 30 of the up-and-coming women's basketball coaches age 30 and under in the sport at all levels of the game.

Yu came to Dominican with previous Division III coaching and administrative experience, serving as the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach and Coordinator of Athletic Facilities at City College of New York (CCNY). At CCNY, Yu played a major role in the program’s player development and scouting while also coordinating the Beavers’ community service events and recruiting efforts.

A 2019 graduate of Hunter College, Yu was a four-year letter winner and three-time team captain for the Hawks. After going 11-16 in 2014-15, her first season with the program, Hunter improved to 18-10 by Yu’s senior year in 2017-18.  That season, the Hawks earned their first-ever regional ranking, finishing No. 8 in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region.
