Sharika Webb, a former standout with the Purdue University women’s basketball team, returns the Dominican University women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach. Webb lettered with the Purdue Boilermakers from 2002-2006, a stretch that the Big Ten powerhouse posted a 101-20 overall record with conference tournament titles in 2003 and 2004 and four consecutive NCAA national tournament appearances, including back-to-back trips to the Elite Eight in 2002 and 2003 and a Sweet 16 appearance in 2006.
During her collegiate career, Webb appeared in 126 games, making 40 appearances in the Boilermakers’ starting lineups. Webb finished her career with 469 points, 277 assists, 284 rebounds and 134 steals while averaging better than 18 minutes per game.
Following her collegiate career, Webb continued her basketball career with the Chicago Steam, a semipro team in the WABA, as a player in 2009-2011 and then as the team’s head coach from 2011-2012.
