Ben Boyd, a member of the 2003 Dominican University Stars’ men’s soccer team and 2007 graduate of Dominican University, joins first-year head coach Carlos Carrillo's women's soccer staff for the 2014 season.  While this is Boyd's first season with the Stars' women's soccer program, Boyd is not stranger on the Dominican sidelines, having spent the 2013 season with the Stars' men's soccer staff.

Working primarily with the Stars’ goalkeepers in 2013, Boyd helped the Stars to a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) best 0.99 goals against average in 19 games.  The Stars posted a 0.47 shutout percentage with 9 shutouts in 19 games.  Additionally, Dominican’s freshman goalkeeper, Gabriel Gongora, who started 18 games, was named to the NACC All-Freshman Team.

In addition to his work with the Stars, Boyd is a staff coach and the South Director at PAWS Goalkeeper Academy.  There Boyd is responsible for running weekly training sessions and maintaining the academy’s website.

Beyond Dominican and PAWS, Boyd has extensive experience at nearly every level of soccer, including Nazareth High School, the Chicago Magic-PSG Academy and the University of St. Francis where Boyd served three seasons as an assistant coach with the women’s soccer program.  This past summer, Boyd’s expertise earned him a trip to Sweden where he worked with Kvarnsvedens IK, a Swedish pro club of the women's Elitettan league and men's Division 2 Norra Svealand.

Boyd has earned his USSF National “A” License and NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
