Naveed Nizam possesses nearly 25 years of coaching experience at the high school and club level as he joins the Dominican University women’s volleyball team as an assistant coach for the 2014 season. Currently, Nizam serves as the senior staff coach and coaches 17 nationals at Michio Chicago Volleyball Academy located in Evergreen Park in addition to a 14-year summer stint with USAVA High Performance Training Camps in Colorado Springs, Colo. With the USAVA, Nizam works extensively with USA Volleyball on their High Performance as an assistant coach.
Nizam’s club background includes stops at Altitude Volleyball Club, Northwest Elite Volleyball Club and 2nd City Volleyball Club. His teams have made a total of 14 national qualifiers including a 1995 second place finish with the 2nd City Volleyball Club 16Us.
At the high school level, Nizam logged time at both Munster High School and Bishop McNamara from 1991 through 2004. At Bishop McNamara, Nizam’s squads captured back-to-back regional championships in 1995 and 1996 while Nizam’s teams at Munster were crowned sectional champs in 2002 and 2004.
