Olivia Kofie takes over the women’s volleyball program in Spring of 2023, after assisting at the DI Chicago State University’s program, where she was highly involved in every aspect of the volleyball program. Chicago State had a winning season of 13-9 (.590%), and participated for the first time in school history in the NIVC tournament.

Previously, Kofie assisted at North Central College and Judson University, as well as coaching for area club teams for both Club Fusion and Sky High.

As a player, Kofie played professionally in Poland, Czech Republic, and Sweden, winning several Player of the Game awards. While in Sweden, she led the league for the season in kill %, at .590%. She won a Silver Medal in the Swedish National Championship, Silver Medal in the Swedish Grand Prix, was a Three-Time MVP of the game, and a Three-time Dream Team for the league. Kofie was signed to return to Sweden and then to Czech Republic, but was forced to retire due to a shoulder injury.

Kofie was a 4-year starter as a Middle/Right Side at Western Michigan University. She won several All-Tournament team awards, as well as winning the Best Spirit award and the Gayle Werrme award for community service. Kofie accumulated over 1,000 kills and 300 blocks during her collegiate career.

While in college, Kofie coached the Men’s Club team for all 4 years at Western Michigan, and also coached for Michigan’s DFFO Volleyball Club.

Prior to moving onto college, Kofie was a player on the 2011 & 2012 Club Fusion’s back-to-back open national championship club teams, as well playing on the 2010 open national championship 3rd place team. She was also the All-Area Captain for her high school team, Larkin High School in Elgin.

Kofie has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University in University Studies, concentrating in Health & Family Studies.

Kofie resides in Downers Grove with her husband, Simeon.
