The Dominican University men’s soccer team followed up its first blemish of the season, a scoreless draw with the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Saturday, with an 8-nil victory over the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors on Tuesday night.
Michael Kapusta (Bartlett, Ill.), the Stars’ points leader on the season, racked up seven points in the winning effort, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on three other tallies. Kapusta now has 26 points in 13 games with nine goals and eight assists.
Lio Tovar (Cicero, Ill.) scored a pair of goals as well, including the eventual game-winner in just the eighth minute of play. Dylan Osadjan (Green Bay, Wis.), Conor Dermody (Eugene, Mo.) and Leo Elizalde (Wheeling, Ill.) also had goals for the Stars, with Osadjan and Dermody notching their first goals of the season.
The Stars improve to 12-0-1 overall and 7-0-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with five games remaining on Dominican’s regular season schedule. On Saturday, Dominican will host the Wartburg College Knights for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff on the Stars’ West Campus Field. Live Stats of the non-conference tilt can be found at www.dustars.com.
