Men’s Basketball In Control In Win Over MBBC

The Dominican University men’s basketball team led from start to finish, improving to 5-4 on the season and 3-1 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with an 89-74 win over the Maranatha Baptist Bible College Crusaders on Saturday evening.
Brothers Marquis Turley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) and Jovan Turley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) combined to score 41 points for the Stars in the winning effort. Marquis dropped a team-high 21 points while Jovan scored 20 in 20 minutes off the Stars’ bench. The Turley’s were a combined 11-for-15 from the field and 18-for-20 from the free throw line.
Freshman Logan Harris (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) added 12 points, going 6-for-7 from the field, while grabbing a game-high seven rebounds for Dominican.
As a team, Dominican over 48 percent from the field (31-64) and converted on 24 of a season-high 32 trips to the foul line.
The Crusaders were paced by Brendan Brown’s game-high 27 points while Josh Stein logged a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.
Dominican will return to the court on Saturday, December 18, hosting MacMurray College for a 1:00 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
