The Dominican University women’s tennis team slipped to 7-7 overall and 5-6 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) with a 7-2 loss to the Aurora University Spartans in the final dual match of the 2010 season for the Stars.

Elizabeth Nelson (Riverside, Ill.) and Viatra Baker (North Aurora, Ill.) picked up the lone points for the Stars at the first and sixth singles flights respectively. Nelson improved to 8-6 on the season as the Stars’ number one, with a 7-6 (7-1), 4-6, 10-6 win over Aurora’s Siri Nelson while Baker improved to 8-5 in singles play with 6-0, 4-6, 6-1 win over the Spartans’ Jessica Boyle.

The Stars, currently in a tie for sixth in the conference standings, will compete at the 2010 NAC Women’s Tennis Individual Championship on Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3, at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison, Wis.
