Road Woes Continue For Men’s Basketball

The Dominican University men’s basketball team dropped its sixth straight game overall and fell to 1-5 on the road with a 73-49 loss at MSOE on Thursday night.
The Stars were held scoreless over the game’s first six minutes, twenty seconds, falling behind 14-0 before the offense finally got going. Dominican shaved the Raider lead to eight three times in the opening half but trailed 35-25 at the break. MSOE put the game out of reach with a 14-4 run to open the second half and never looked back.
Marquis Turley (Grand Rapids, Mich.) was the lone player for the Stars to reach double-figures scoring, putting up 14 points in the losing effort.
The Stars managed to shoot just 33.3 percent from the field (16-48) on the night while the Raiders converted on a 46.6 percent clip from the field (27-58) and scored 15 points off of 11 offensive rebounds.
Dominican now stands at 6-10 on the season and 3-5 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC). On Saturday, the Stars travel back to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors.  Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. in the Warriors’ REX Complex.
