Box Score Ryan Roberts’ (Elmhurst, Ill.) goal in the 46^th minute ended a near 136 minute scoreless drought but more importantly was enough offense for the Dominican University Stars (12-2-0, 7-0-0) to slip past the Aurora University Spartans (5-8-1, 4-3-0), 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior Andy Lynch (Hawthorn Woods, Ill.) picked up an assist on the goal as his throw in to the center of the Spartans’ six-yard box rolled right to the foot of Roberts who netted just his second goal of the season after scoring 11 goals as a sophomore last season.  Roberts had not recorded a goal since September 9 and has just three assists in the Stars’ last ten contests prior to Wednesday.

The Stars held a 16-6 advantage in shots and put six shots on goal while sophomore goalkeeper Dan Cimicata (St. Louis, Mo.) had to make just one save to pick up his fifth shutout of the season.

The Stars will return to the West Campus pitch on Saturday, hosting the MSOE Raiders for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
