Box Score The Dominican University women’s basketball team topped the North Central College Cardinals 88-81 on Tuesday night to open the 2011-2012 campaign for the Stars.  Sarah Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) and Katie Budz (Orland Park, Ill.) shared game-high honors with 19 points apiece to lead four double-digit scorers for the Stars who saw three players post double-doubles in the winning effort.
 
The Stars used a 7-0 run to open a 9-2 lead in the first two minutes and never looked back, never relinquishing the lead to avenge a 67-64 loss to the Cardinals last season.
 
Sarah Budz posted 12 rebounds, six assists, three blocks and three steals in the all-around effort to lead Dominican.  Sophomore Ashley Oliver (Bolingbrook, Ill.) added 17 points and 11 rebounds while freshman Amber Nyssen (Byron Center, Mich.) posted 14 and ten in her collegiate debut.
 
The Stars will travel to DePere, Wis., on Friday for the SNC Tip-Off Classic at St. Norbert College.  Dominican will take on UW-Superior on Friday night at 5:00 PM.
