The Dominican University women’s tennis team split a pair of Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) dual matches on Saturday, sweeping the Alverno College Inferno in the afternoon, 9-0, to snap a four-match losing streak after falling to the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors, 6-3, in the morning.
Rachel Taddy (Cary, Ill.),
Monica Budzak (Chicago, Ill.) and
Marbeya Berner (New Lenox, Ill.) picked up wins at numbers two, five and six singles respectively for the Stars in the loss to Wisconsin Lutheran. Taddy, is undefeated in NAC singles play, splitting time at the two and three singles flights. Likewise, Berner, a freshman, has yet to lose in NAC play at number six singles for the Stars.
Dominican is now 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in NAC play. On Thursday, the Stars will host the Benedictine University Eagles for a 4:00 PM match.
