Stars Score Three in Second Half for 4-0 Win

Box Score RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Three different Stars would record goals in the second period en route to a 4-0 victory over the visiting Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran College.  The win gives Dominican its third Northern Athletics Conference win in as many tries and improves their record to 8-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in NAC play.

Ryan Ybarra (Des Plaines, Ill./Maine West) would start things off for the Stars as he got assists from Lio Tovar (Cicero, Ill./Morton East) and Andy Lynch (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Zurich) to put one past the Warriors’ keeper in the 10th minute of play.

The Stars would record nine more shots in the period with four on goal, while their defense allowed just one shot from the Warriors (3-5-0, 0-3-0 NAC).  The corner kicks count was also 6-0 in favor of the Stars leading into halftime.

The Stars would keep attacking with five more shots from four different players before Ybarra would knock in his second goal of the match at 64:08 to take the Stars’ lead to 3-0.

Freddy Tovar (Chicago, Ill./Kelly) would then record Dominican’s fourth and final goal just six minutes later, as he received assists from Lio Tovar and Ryan Roberts (Elmhurst, Ill./York).

Dan Cimicata (St. Louis, Mo./Trinity Catholic) would only need to defend three Warrior shots on goal in the match, compared to the eight shots on frame that Dominican forced the visitors to save.
