Stars Upended By Benedictine

Box Score The Dominican University men's basketball team trailed the Benedictine University Eagles from start to finish, falling to the Eagles 74-54 to on Tuesday night to drop Dominican to 3-12 on the season and 1-6 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC).
 
Darrius Nelson (Michigan City, Ind.), closing in on 1,000 career points, led the Stars with 16 points, 5 rebounds and two steals.  Dominican’s senior guard, now has 972 points for his career and is averaging a team-high 14.7 points per game on the season.
 
 As a team, Dominican shot just over 38 percent from the field (17-45) and was just 2-for-14 from three-point range.  On the other end of the floor, the Eagles shot near 52 percent from the field (30-58), including going 5-for-12 from three.
 
The Stars will host the MSOE Raiders on Thursday night in NAC action.  Tipoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. in the Igini Sports Forum.
