Box Score The Dominican University men's basketball team was held to 30-percent shooting from the field and out-rebounded 37-26 as the Stars fell for the second time in as many days, falling to the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves 68-45 on day two of the 2012 River Forest Classic.
After a pair of free throws by Dominican's
Josh Ward (Burr Ridge, Ill.), the NWU Prairie Wolves went on an 8-0 run to open a 26-14 lead with under 4:30 remaining in the first half and never looked back.
Kyle Sherwin (White Lake, Mich.) led the Stars in the losing effort with ten points and pulling down six rebounds while Ward and
Logan Harris (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) chipped in nine apiece.
As a team, the Stars were just 16-for-52 from the field, going 2-for-13 from three-point distance, while the Prairie Wolves shot at a 26-for-49 clip, going 4-for-14 from long range.
The loss drops Dominican to 0-2 on the season. The Stars return to the court on Tuesday, hosting the St. Mary's University Cardinals for a 7:00 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
