Stars Downed By Warriors

Box Score The Dominican University men's basketball team surrendered 31 extra possessions (17 turnovers and 14 offensive rebounds) to the visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors, leading to 28 points, as the Stars fell to the Warriors 66-59 in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action on Saturday afternoon.

Trailing 28-24 at the break, the Stars went on a 9-2 run, with Logan Harris scoring seven of his game-high 22 points on the run, (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) to open the second half to take a 33-30 lead with 16:16 to play. The Warriors stormed back as Nate Bauer scored back-to-back ebuckets for Wisconsin Lutheran and the Stars never led again.

Harris added 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season in the losing effort.

As a team, Dominican shot just 4-for-21 from three-point distance and made just 13 trips to the foul line, going 9-for-13 from the charity stripe.

Conversely, the Warriors, led by Bauer's 19 points, attempted just eight shots from behind the three-point arc and made 21 of 28 attempts from the free throw line.

The loss drops the Stars to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in the NAC while Wisconsin Lutheran improved to 3-7 overall and 2-3 in conference play. Dominican returns to action on Monday night, traveling to the University of Chicago to take on the Maroons in a 7:00 p.m. non-conference tilt.
