Taylor DeRoo (Holland, Mich.) and
Logan Harris (Pleasant Plains, Ill.) scored 17 points apiece to lead the Dominican University men's basketball team on Tuesday night as the Stars fell to the Rockford College Regents, 83-73, in Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) action.
After taking a 3-0 lead on the first possession of the game, the only lead of the night for the Stars, Dominican had no answer for the Regents' 6'5 junior Danny Fair. Fair scored a game-high 29 points on 12-for-17 shooting from the field in 32 minutes of work while pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds.Â
Matt Kuzniar (Wheaton, Ill.), making just his third start of the season for the Stars, scored a career-high 15 points in the losing effort, going 5-for-12 from the field and 3-for-9 from three-point distance. Â
Kyle Sherwin (White Lake, Mich.) chipped in 14 points to round out four players in double-figures for Dominican.
The loss was the Stars' eighth straight defeat going back to January 2, when Dominican topped Cornell College 71-66 at home. Â The Stars will look to snap that streak on Saturday, traveling to Fon du Lac, Wis., to take on the Marian University Sabres. Â Tipoff is scheduled for 4:15 p.m.
