The Dominican University women’s tennis team fell in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon, coming up on the short side of an 8-1 decision against the North Central College Cardinals and falling to 4-5 on the season.
After falling behind 3-0 after doubles play,
Rachel Taddy (Cary, Ill.) scored the Stars’ lone point as she knocked off the Cardinal’s Jenny Velasquez, 6-2, 7-6. Taddy is now 5-4 on the season, playing exclusively in the number one singles role for the Stars.
Dominican will return to Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) play on Saturday, hosting Rockford College and MSOE for a pair of dual matches at Taylor Park. The Stars will square off against Rockford at 10:00 a.m. and then battle the MSOE Raiders at 2:00 p.m.
