Stars Tripped Up At Marian

Box Score The Dominican University women’s soccer team slipped to 4-2-0 in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC), coming up on the short side of a 2-1 decision against the Marian University Sabres on Saturday afternoon.

After the Sabres got on the board in the 25th minute, Daisy Salgado (Chicago, Ill.) notched her first goal of the season just six minutes later to even the score.

The score remained knotted at 1-1 until Morgan Ansems netted what proved to be the game-winner for Marian with just over a minute remaining in the first half.

With the Sabres playing with the lead, the Stars managed just three shots over the final 45 minutes after ripping nine shots in the first half.

The Stars, now 5-6-0 on the season, will look to get back on track on Wednesday, taking the short trek down Division Street to take on neighborhood rival Concordia University Chicago in conference action.  Kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m.
