The Dominican University women's tennis team took to the courts on Sunday afternoon, hosting the Benedictine University Eagles for a Northern Athletics Conference (NAC) dual match.  The Eagles were able to edge the Stars by a 5-4 count after taking two out of three points in doubles play.

The Stars number one doubles team of Rachel Taddy (Cary, Ill.) and Jillian Metcalf (Oak Lawn, Ill.) knocked off their Eagle counterparts 8-3. However, the Eagles claimed victories at numbers two and three doubles by scores of 8-2 and 8-3.

Taddy picked up a victory at number one singles, knocking off the Eagles' Lina Savickas, 6-0, 7-5.  Dominican managed victories at numbers four and six singles as Marbeya Berner (New Lenox, Ill.) and Rosemary Orchanian (Portage, Mich.) knocked off their respective opponents.

The Stars will return to NAC play next Saturday, hosting the Marian University Sabres and Lakeland College Muskies at Taylor Park.
