"The conditions were tough for both teams," said Stars' head coach Erick Baumann. "A slow field and high winds made it difficult to go forward but in the end it was a shutout victory in conference—a step in the direction we want to go."
The Stars outshot the Sabres 14-4 on the afternoon, putting four shots on frame while allowing just one shot on goal for Marian. The Stars also outcornered Marian, 10-2.
The win pushes the Stars back to .500 on the season at 4-4-0 and 2-1-0 in the NACC. Dominican will be back in action on the Stars' home pitch on Tuesday, hosting the Aurora University Spartans for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
