Box Score The Dominican University men's basketball team fell in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) action on Thursday night, falling to the visiting Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors 82-66 in River Forest.

The Warriors opened the game on a 20-4 run over the first 7:44, capped by a Christian Walz three-pointer, and never surrendered the lead.

The Stars chipped the lead down to five, 31-26, on a three by
Ryan Risley (Oak Lawn, Ill.) with 3:26 to play in the first half but the Warriors answered with a quick 5-0 run to go back up double-digits.

The Stars made one more run to close out the half, cutting the lead to 36-31 on a
Kevin Tiongson (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) three but DJ Escamilla knocked down a trey for the Warriors to close out the half with the Warriors holding a 39-31 lead.

Both teams went 6-for-11 from three-point range in the first half with the Warriors going 14-for-33 from the field and the Stars 11-for-28. Wisconsin Lutheran grabbed five offensive rebounds in the opening period, holding a 23-15 advantage on the glass at the break.

The Warriors opened the second half much the same way they did the first, going on a 9-0 run over the first 3:20 to build up a 17-point lead, 48-31, but this time Dominican was never able to narrow the gap closer than 12 points the rest of the way.

Freshman
Josh Mayberry (Canton, Mich.) led the Stars with 16 points, going 8-for-12 from the foul line. Risley chipped in 14 points off the Stars' bench, going 4-for-7 from three in 23 minutes of work.

Jake Jarnigo led four in double-figures for the Warriors with 17 points, going 5-for-7 from three. Walz finished with 12 points off the bench while Kyle Stelse and Jim Marose added 11 and ten respectively.

Wisconsin Lutheran controlled the glass, outrebounding the Stars 41-28 while pulling down eight offensive rebounds.

The loss drops the Stars to 4-15 overall and 3-11 in the NACC while Wisconsin Lutheran improves to 6-13, 4-11.

Dominican will be back in action on Saturday, hosting the NACC-leading Marian University Sabres for a 2:00 p.m. tipoff in the Igini Sports Forum.
