The Dominican University women's volleyball team continued to steamroll the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), picking up a three-set (25-14, 25-9, 25-23) win over the MSOE Raiders on Saturday night to move to 19-8 overall and 9-0 in the NACC.
Â
The Stars' offense has been extremely efficient throughout the course of the Stars' current seven-match winning streak and Saturday night proved no different. Dominican's
Christina Wilson (Homer Glen, Ill.) collected 34 assists as the Stars posted a .367 hitting percentage. Junior
Caitlen Foote (Dexter, Mich.) posted a match-high 12 kills while committing just two errors on 24 swings.Â
Tessa Griparis (Belleair, Fla.) added eight kills while freshman
Alex Kisten (Huntley, Ill.) knocked down seven kills despite playing only in the third set.
Â
Defensively, the Stars picked up nine total blocks and logged 37 digs in holding the visiting Raiders to a .086 attack percentage. Â Griparis rounded out a 10.5 point night with five assisted blocks while
Olivia Szuszkiewicz (Barrington, Ill.) tallied a match-high 14 digs.
Â
The Stars look to close out an undefeated 2014 conference season with a pair of NACC matches this week. On Wednesday, the Stars travel to Benedictine University and then return home to take on the Lakeland College Muskies on Saturday. Dominican needs just one win to clinch a share of the NACC regular season title and the top-seed in the six-team conference tournament.
