The Dominican University women's soccer team posted a 7-0 win over the visiting Lakeland College Muskies on Saturday afternoon in River Forest, holding the Muskies to just two shots in posting a clean sheet.

Trisha Neidlinger (Plymouth, Ind.) ignited an offensive outburst for the Stars in the third minute as she collected a turnover near the top of the Lakeland 18-yard box before ripping a shot past Jessica Carter, the Muskies' goalkeeper. The goal was the first of the season for Neidlinger and proved to be the game-winner but was just the beginning for the Stars.

In the 21
st minute,
Leah Tednes (Hoffman Estates, Ill.) scored the first of her three goals on the afternoon, getting on the end of
Nathalie Mathis's (Wauconda, Ill.)Â corner kick service at the back post, driving a header into the Muskies' goal.

Five minutes later, Tednes added to the Stars' lead, collecting a rebound of a blocked shot after a flurry of activity in the box and firing a shot into the goal for her sixth goal of the season.

The Stars then added a pair of goals in the 35
th minute for a 5-0 halftime lead. Mathis got the first goal in the 35
th minute, putting a free kick into the back of the goal from 20-yards out. Seconds later,
Taylor Adler (Shorewood, Ill.) got free in the box after Tednes carried to the endline before playing a ball into the box.

After Tednes notched her third goal of the match in the 59
th minute,
Ashly Torres (Franklin Park, Ill.) rounded out the scoring with her first goal of the season in the 85
th minute.

Dominican peppered the Lakeland goal with 25 shots, putting 19 on frame.

Sara Stepanovich (Des Plaines, Ill.) and
Vanessa Gonzalez (Chicago, Ill.) combined in goal to post the shutout, facing just two shots total.

The win pushes Dominican to 6-5-0 on the season and 3-2-0 in Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) play. The Stars return to the West Campus pitch on Wednesday, playing host the Wisconsin Lutheran College Warriors for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff.
